Set in the Breede Valley, BOSJES is known for its striking architecture, landscaped gardens and world-class hospitality offerings. The estate’s spaces are designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding mountains and fynbos, creating an immersive environment for guests and visitors.
Grandi Manufacturing was commissioned to fabricate and install the distinctive curvilinear steel trellis structures that frame the walkways in the BOSJES garden spaces. These flowing forms create a sculptural canopy that guides movement, supports climbing vegetation and enhances the architectural character of the estate.
Our scope of work
- Precision fabrication of the curved steel members
- Manufacturing of the criss-cross infill pattern, designed to hold and support climbing plants
- Full on-site installation, ensuring seamless alignment with existing landscaping and architectural features
- High-quality finishing to ensure durability in outdoor conditions
Design intent
The trellis brings together architecture, landscape and sculpture. Its sculptural arcs echo the mountain silhouettes around the estate, while the diagonal detailing softens the structure and allows nature to weave through it over time. Installed some time ago, it has already begun to integrate beautifully with the maturing gardens.
Project significance
This installation showcases Grandi Manufacturing’s ability to deliver complex, custom architectural metalwork with high precision. The project required advanced rolling, shaping and alignment techniques, as well as close collaboration with the landscape and architectural teams to achieve a fluid, fully integrated final result.
